Hypnotherapy will help you perform to the best of your abilities.
We cater for all standards from amateur to top professionals.
At top level the distinction between success and failure is very narrow.
Hypnotherapy can provide you with that edge that makes the difference.
For example, every footballer knows that they should score from the penalty spot but it is a fact that when under pressure the likelihood of a penalty being missed greatly increases due to anxiety. Similarly in snooker, an easy pot becomes a difficult one when the outcome of the frame is at stake.
Such scenarios are repeated in most sports.
The combination of hypnotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy helps the participant to anticipate and overcome such moments of anxiety.
Hypnotherapy helps sports people achieve their full potential by eliminating a fear of failure that may be holding them back. Lack of self belief often means that a person has set their sights too low. This is as true off the sports field as it is on. Most people are capable of achieving a great deal more than they thought, or were led to believe, possible.
Leeds Hypnotherapy Clinic practitioner Daniel L. McDermid is a professional sports man himself. He has a vast understanding on how the pressure of sport can cause an athlete not to compete at their potential. He also recognises how anxiety can cause an athlete to withdraw physically from a competition. Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT) is used to give the amatuer or professional athlete an understanding of their condition. This process leads the patient to have the confidence to perform at the best of their natural capability.

Stammering / Stuttering
Here at Leeds Hypnotherapy Clinic an individual is taught Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy techniques, which allows a patient with a stammer to gain intellectual insight into their condition. There are lots of different techniques that are used within hypnosis that can help an individual to overcome their condition of stammering.
Stammering can be the cause of low self-esteem. The fact that an individual stammers then causes an individual with low self-esteem to be conditioned into having an even lower self- esteem because of the stammering.
The founder of Leeds Hypnotherapy Clinic (Daniel McDermid) was a sufferer of stammering as a child and through his teenage years. He went to a speech therapist for many years, and it was only when he gained more confidence due to sport that his stammering seized to exist.
Other techniques such as relaxation can be employed to treat the condition successfully, by addressing an individuals anxiety. Self- hypnosis is also taught to help patients to control their symptoms
